Yes. Every piece is handcrafted at our forge. Because each item is made by hand, slight variations in shape, texture, and finish are normal and make every piece unique.Will my hand-forged item rust?
Steel can develop surface rust if exposed to moisture. Proper care, including drying after washing and occasional oiling, will help protect your item for years to come.What materials do you use?
What makes hand-forged items different?
Hand-forged items are shaped individually by hammer and anvil rather than mass-produced in a factory. Small variations, hammer marks, and unique details are part of what make each piece one of a kind and full of character.
What are the wall hooks designed to hold?
Our hooks are designed for everyday decorative and household use, such as hanging coats/jackets, hats, bags, curtains, towels, and other lightweight to moderately-weighted items. They are NOT designed or rated for heavy-duty use or supporting large amounts of weight.
Care instructions for stone knives
Our flintknapped stone knives are handcrafted art pieces and display items. While they feature sharp edges, they are not intended for regular cutting or utility use. Blackfrost Forge is not responsible for damage resulting from misuse, improper handling, or use outside of their intended purpose.
Care instructions for hand-forged items
To keep your hand-forged item looking its best, thoroughly dry it after washing or exposure to moisture. A light coating of food-grade oil applied occasionally will help protect the metal and prevent rust. Care for hand-forged items is very similar to care requirements for cast iron. With proper care, your piece can be enjoyed for years to come.
Do you accept custom orders?
We occasionally accept custom projects depending on our current workload. We require payment prior to starting on any custom projects, and we do not accept refunds once work has begun on a custom piece. Price for custom work varies based on time required to complete the project + materials. Our base rate for custom work is $90/hr + material cost. Contact us with details about your idea, and we'll let you know if it's something we can create.
How fast do you ship?
Most orders ship within 1–3 business days, though please allow up to 5 business days during busy periods. You'll receive tracking information as soon as your order is on its way.
